The basis of the company was formed in 2009 as local businesses and entrepreneurs were discovering the advantages of utilizing social media as a means of advertising their products and services. Using a variety of tools, Up to Date consultants are able to assist local businesses in keeping consumers aware if what is going on in their businesses.
Sean Smith, Up to Date’s owner and primary consultant, has been in the IT world for more than a dozen years, in positions ranging from developing and managing Internet and Intranet environments for the Army in the Western Canada, to being the owner of a IT management and service company. He is also a well known Campbell River editorial columnist and blogger. Using social media tools for his own sites, he has been able to increase his unique visits by over 1400% in less than 6 months.
